North Oaks Health System is seeking a Critical Care RN for the Intensive Care unit in Hammond, LA. This full-time role involves 3 rotating 12-hour shifts from 7A to 7P with weekends on rotation.

The RN will provide high-quality patient care, administer medications and treatments, document responses, and participate in QA and safety protocols within NOMC standards. Active LA RN licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current LA RN license is required.

Responsabilités

• Insure the maintenance of quality patient care.
• Utilize nursing process (assess, plan, implement and evaluate) for each patient on an individual basis.
• Assist with QA audits.
• Administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Document patient response to medication and procedure, using vital sign record, nurses’ notes, and any other form as appropriate.
• Monitor patient receiving IV conscious sedation as per policy.
• Administer blood, blood components, hyperalimentation and chemotherapy.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures for self and supervisees.
• Adhere to dress code and report incidents and injuries and medication errors.
• Demonstrate professional manner and comply with attendance policy.
• Know hospital safety codes and participate in drills and emergencies.
• Provide clean environment and account for narcotics.
• Assist department manager in policies and procedures maintenance.
• Schedule assignments of personnel as applicable.
• Assist department director in data collection.
• Monitor equipment function.
• Maintain satisfactory communication and share knowledge with others.
• Participate in professional development activities; attend committee meetings and in-service programs.
