Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois seeks a Clinical Practice Specialist RN Educator for ICU education, supporting CVIS/RRT/VAT and tele tech training. This full-time days position focuses on advancing nursing practice and staff development across the front-line.

You will design and implement educational opportunities, mentor staff, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and collaborate with unit leaders to improve patient care using evidence-based guidelines.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
Master's in Nursing or progress toward within 4 years.
Registered Nursing license issued by the State of Illinois.
Certification in related clinical area or eligible to obtain.
3-5 years’ experience in the specified clinical area.
BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements education opportunities for staff based on needs assessments and system goals.
Supports staff to seek and maintain specialty certification; monitors progress.
Reviews unit/division dashboards and coordinates quality improvement actions.
Monitors quality data with the operational manager and drives safety initiatives.
Leads inter-professional teams for unit/division process improvement.
Plan and evaluate division learning activities to improve safety.
Provides input into staff evaluations related to clinical competence.
