Job summary

Danbury Hospital seeks an experienced nurse leader to oversee patient care delivery in the ICU/CCU. You will support the Director of Patient Care Services in developing, implementing, and monitoring nursing practice standards, ensuring safe, high-quality care and alignment with the organization's goals.

Responsibilities include supervision 24/7, mentoring staff, controlling resources, guiding performance improvement, and fostering teamwork.

Qualifications

• BSN or advanced nursing degree required (or completion within 1 year).
• Master’s Degree in Nursing or related fields preferred.
• 3 years of relevant clinical experience with 2 years of leadership experience.
• Connecticut State RN License required.
• Nursing Certification in leadership or related specialty preferred.
• Membership in a Healthcare/Nursing professional organization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and evaluates nursing practice standards on the unit.
• Assumes 24/7 accountability for supervision of personnel and ensures safe, quality care.
• Provides mentoring, coaching and fosters teamwork to achieve high employee engagement.
• Ensures training requirements are met within timelines.
• Leads department goals and supports strategic growth targets.
• Manages department finances and analyzes data to justify decisions.
• Fosters cross-department communication and collaborates with physicians and leaders.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and leads quality and safety initiatives.
• Develops an environment that supports service excellence and professional growth.
• Communicates effectively to ensure information is shared for operations.
