Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking an ICU Senior Nurse Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership over a 38-bed two-unit ICU. You will ensure safe, quality, patient-centered care while advancing department goals and regulatory readiness.

You will report to the ACNO and supervise day-to-day nursing operations with 24-hour accountability. The role emphasizes workforce management, risk and performance improvement, and collaboration with physicians and care teams to optimize patient

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• 6+ years of RN experience in inpatient setting.
• 3+ years of nurse management experience.
• Current license to practice Nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• BLS certification.
• Masters Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily unit operations ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
• Coordinates clinical activities and patient flow in collaboration with the charge nurse to meet patient needs safely.
• Leads recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff development in the ICU setting.
• Drives quality, patient safety, and regulatory readiness initiatives within the department.
• Develops staffing plans aligned with acuity and volume; partners on budget and equipment needs.
