Job summary

Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC) is seeking an individual to provide direct patient care in an acute care setting. You will work under supervision in critical care; assist with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic treatments.

The role involves coordinating with nursing staff to ensure patient comfort and safety, including assisting with transfers, feeding, and post-care tasks. BLS certification will be required within 60 days of appointment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1 year direct patient care in healthcare
• 30 college credit hours from an accredited school
• Completion of approved practical nursing or medical assistant program

Responsibilities

• Provide basic and personal care such as feeding, bathing, grooming, mobility support
• Take vital signs and report changes to supervisor
• Assist with nutrition, meal trays, and feeding equipment
• Assist with transfers and transports using lifts/equipment
• Respond to emergencies and assist with patient care decisions
• Maintain patient belongings and ensure bed/linen care
