Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System in Garfield Heights is seeking a Clinical Technician for ICU coverage. This PRN role supports nursing staff with patient care, vital signs, and basic tasks in a high-acuity unit.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification, and about one year of direct patient care experience. Nursing students may substitute clinical rotations for required experience; military medical personnel are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• One year of recent, full-time patient care experience.
• Additional education or training may substitute for some or all the stated experience.
• Nursing students who have completed at least one clinical rotation may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience.
• Military experience as Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic or Medical Service Technician will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point-of-care testing, dressing changes, external monitoring devices, and removing urinary Foley catheters.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly.
