Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Information and Communications Technology Designer to perform basic technical duties under supervision, focusing on ICT design for backbone and horizontal cabling in mission critical facilities. The role involves site surveys, coordinating with project teams, and delivering client-focused designs within budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICT design principles for backbone and horizontal cabling.
• Understanding customer owned outside plant pathway design.
• Knowledge of TIA standards and BICSI best practices.
• Background in Data Center Facilities.
• Knowledge of building codes and structured cabling systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and regulations.
• Proficient in CAD, Bluebeam, and Revit.
• Effective communication with clients and team members.
• Strong organization and time management, able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develops systems designs within own discipline with minimal supervision.
• Performs site visits for surveys, progress inspections, and final punch lists.
• Prepares project deliverables per the client’s scope.
• Follows Stantec’s QA/QC process and submits deliverables for review.
• Participates in professional development through meetings, seminars, or articles.
• Meets utilization goals and adheres to project budget.
• Assists or acts as project manager by planning tasks within the timeline and coordinating with other disciplines.
• Creates detailed instructions and delegates tasks to ensure timely execution.
• Identifies roadblocks and priorities that affect scope, schedule, or budget.
• Develops understanding of Stantec’s accounting and project management systems.
