Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Manager of ICT Design Engineering for the Americas to lead a geographically distributed team of engineers responsible for ICT infrastructure designs across AWS data centers.

You will own the Telecommunications Basis of Design (BOD) and drive standardization across 15+ programs, coordinating with Networking, Construction, and Global Network Deployment to meet current and next-gen workloads, including AI/ML and HPC.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of managing technical teams with significant personnel management experience and examples of developing engineers and building successful teams
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience reading and editing construction documents (design drawings, control diagrams, specifications, etc.)
• Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment & troubleshooting methodologies
• Experience managing training programs or teams across multiple sites or regions
• Experience managing multiple development programs in parallel
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• 8+ years of experience in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design in mission critical environments
• BICSI RCDD Certification or internationally recognized equivalent (e.g. CDCDP, DCDC, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a geographically distributed team of ICT Design Engineers across junior to senior levels and multiple US locations
• Own the Telecommunications Basis of Design (BOD) defining ICT infrastructure standards across AWS's global data center design portfolio
• Drive design standardization, quality, and innovation across 15+ active programs
• Develop and maintain a multi-year ICT infrastructure strategy for network evolution and capacity planning
• Ensure timely delivery of scalable pathway, space, and structured cabling designs
• Coordinate with 8+ partner teams to align ICT designs with broader building systems
• Establish and continuously improve design intake management, documentation standards, and metrics reporting
• Identify and respond to risks and high-priority design issues rapidly
• Represent AMER ICT Design Engineering in alignment with global peers
• Travel 20–30% to review active projects and coordinate with on-site personnel
