Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Manager of ICT Design Engineering for the Americas to lead a geographically distributed team of engineers responsible for ICT infrastructure across AWS data centers.

You will own the Telecommunications Basis of Design and drive consistency across 15+ programs, collaborating with Networking, Construction, and Global Network Deployment teams to meet evolving needs. You will develop multi-year strategies for network evolution and capacity planning, ensuring

Qualifications

• 3+ years of managing technical teams with significant personnel management experience and examples of developing engineers and building successful teams experience.
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
• Experience reading and editing construction documents (design drawings, control diagrams, specifications, etc.).
• Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment & troubleshooting methodologies.
• Experience managing training programs or teams across multiple sites or regions.
• Experience managing multiple development programs in parallel.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• 8+ years of experience in ICT design in mission critical environments.
• BICSI RCDD Certification or internationally recognized equivalent (e.g. CDCDP, DCDC, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a geographically distributed team of 8+ ICT Design Engineers across junior to senior levels and multiple US locations.
• Own the Telecommunications Basis of Design (BOD) and drive design consistency across AWS data center programs.
• Drive design standardization, quality, and innovation across 15+ active programs.
• Develop and maintain a multi-year ICT infrastructure strategy including AI/ML and HPC workloads.
• Ensure timely delivery of scalable pathway, space, and cabling designs for construction and permitting.
• Coordinate with 8+ partner teams to align ICT designs with building systems and deployment timelines.
• Establish and improve operational processes including design intake, documentation, and metrics.
• Identify risks and high-priority design issues and escalate as needed.
• Represent AMER ICT Design Engineering in alignment with global peers.
• Travel 20–30% to review active projects and coordinate with on-site teams.
