Idaho Correctional Industries is recruiting a Senior Job Training Specialist to work at the Idaho State Correctional Institution in Boise, Idaho. The role focuses on developing training programs and supervising staff and resident trainees to meet production deadlines and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or Vocational Training Certification or combination of education andexperience equivalent to journeyman level skills in a specific specialty area
  • Experience with industry standard machines and equipment
  • Supervisory experience in a transportation hub environment that includes experiencetraining others to develop and enhance job skills
  • Extensive computer knowledge including MS word, excel, outlook
  • Significant experience using tools and equipment specific to assigned shops
  • Willingness to work within a correctional facility

Responsibilities

  • Resolve personnel issues and handle disciplinary actions
  • Ensure Job Training Specialist maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • Select, enroll, supervise, and evaluate inmate's performance
  • Provide feedback on job deficiencies and reassigns or removes resident traineesbased on performance results
  • Review and enforce safety rules and regulations
  • Review and analyze estimate vs. actual report and provide explanations on variations
  • Ensure accurate "real time" information is maintained within ERP system
  • Monitor and follow APS schedule
  • Establish and monitor work center(s) assignments for required jobs and production orderworkflow
  • Establish and manage shop(s) budget
  • Run daily/weekly reports on resident trainee performance and project status

  • Having a federal and state criminal background check to include fingerprints
  • Having a history of law‑abiding behavior
