Summary:

The Mission of the Idaho Department of Correction is to create a model correctional system that providesequitableaccess to programming and opportunities that reflect a community experience, foster connections, and restore victims of crime.IDOC is recruiting for a full time Technical Records Specialist 1 position at District 5 Probation and Parole located in Twin Falls, Idaho. This position provides a variety of records support functions,reviews and processes documents,determines,and explains compliance with laws, rules,regulations,and policies and takesappropriate action,maintainsa manual or computerized records system; performs related work.

Responsibilities:

  • This role is responsible for gathering information, making decisions, resolving problems, and responding to inquiries.
  • The individual in this position uses independent judgment and discretion as to the methods, policies, and procedures used to complete assignments.
  • Regular duties involve conducting detailed searches which may require accessing and selecting multiple information sources or contact with clients, vendors, or outside sources to obtain information.
  • Provide specialized support work that involves an in-depth knowledge of the program.
  • Typical duties include reviewing, evaluating, approving, and processing records and/or documents; determining acceptability or conformance to eligibility requirements according to rules, regulations, statutes, and program policies and procedures; explaining requirements, processes, and procedures to customers; updating manual and electronic record systems; and generating reports.

Minimum Qualifications:Your resume needs to clearly articulate how your skills, education and experience meet the qualifications below –

  • Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors. Typically gained fromat least one year of work experience monitoring records systems, identifying problems and correcting errors.
  • Experience researching a variety of sources to resolve problems. Typically gained fromat least one year of work experience gathering information from a variety of sources to collect and compile requested information and required that I have a good knowledge of services, operations, or programs.
  • Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments. Typically gained from at least one year work experience interpreting and applying a variety of difficult rules, regulations, or policies to determine compliance or eligibility and explaining decisions to others. Decisions are complex and can affect the social or economic wellbeing of others or will result in a service or action being denied.
  • Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system. Typically gained fromat least 6 months of experience in a work setting where I was required to enter and retrieve data in a database records system or other computer records system.
