Job summary

reddyice is seeking a Refurb Technician I to inspect, repair, and refurbish insulated ice storage units, restoring integrity and appearance. You will perform hands-on mechanical repairs and replace damaged components to meet safety and quality standards.

This role emphasizes lean principles, teamwork, and continuous improvement in refurbishment center operations, with a focus on safety and efficient processes.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required; trade cert preferred but not required.
• 1-3 years in mechanical repair or related field.
• Ability to read work orders and diagrams.
• Proficient with hand/tools, safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect ice boxes and storage units to assess damage and plan repairs.
• Remove and replace damaged panels, doors, seals, hinges, and insulation.
• Perform structural repairs to maintain insulation and integrity.
• Sand, grind, and prepare surfaces for coating or refinishing.
• Apply coatings and sealants; ensure proper fit and sealing.
• Conduct final quality inspections for safety and appearance.
