Job summary

Reddy Ice is seeking a field technician to service and maintain ice merchandisers at customer locations, plants, and refurbishment centers. You will perform repairs, installations, replacements, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment operation.

The role requires reading English safety and operation instructions, good problem-solving skills, and a strong emphasis on safety and customer service. Travel, lifting, and hands-on work with power tools are involved.

Qualifications

• EPA Type 1 or Universal refrigeration certification required.
• No prior experience required; refrigeration/HVAC or repair background a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR; occasional use of company vehicle.
• Maintain internal training requirements above 80% for Tech 1 level.
• High School diploma or trade certificate in refrigeration or equivalent.
• Basic computer and handheld skills for SOP reporting.

Responsibilities

• Conducts repairs and service on ice merchandisers.
• Installs, replaces, and removes merchandisers at customer locations.
• Performs preventive maintenance and cleaning of ice merchandisers.
• Works at customer sites, plants, DCs, and refurbishment centers.
• Attends technician trainings and learns additional trade skills as directed.
• Maintains vehicle, tools, and spare parts inventory.
