Job summary

The City of Kodiak Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Recreation Coordinator (Ice Rink) for a temporary, as-needed basis not to exceed six months. Responsibilities include planning, promoting, executing and evaluating community recreation programs for youth and adults, and coordinating staff and volunteers.

You will manage facilities, safety, marketing, and records, while collaborating with the Director and other coordinators.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of recreation experience.
• Valid Alaska Driver’s License.
• First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, promote, implement, and evaluate community recreation programs for youth and adults.
• Coordinate and lead the work of contracted, part-time, temporary and volunteer staff within the area of responsibility.
• Maintain program records including revenue, costs, attendance, and incident reports.
• Market programs and coordinate events with outside organizations.
• Ensure safety, customer service, and compliance with relevant laws and policies.
