Job summary

Renaissance Daytona Beach Oceanfront is seeking an Ice Rink Attendant to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for guests during the seasonal ice rink. You will greet guests, assist with skate fittings and rentals, monitor ice safety, and perform light maintenance in a coastal resort setting.

Ideal candidates have prior customer service or hospitality experience, basic ice-skating ability, and strong communication skills to support guests of all ages and skill levels.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service, hospitality, or recreation experience is strongly preferred.
• Basic ice-skating proficiency is preferred (must be comfortable moving securely on or near the ice).
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Position Overview

As an Ice Rink Attendant at the Renaissance Daytona Beach Oceanfront, you will bring a touch of winter magic to our oceanfront resort experience! You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and fun environment for hotel guests and visitors enjoying our seasonal ice rink setup. From greeting guests and managing skate rentals to monitoring ice safety and performing light maintenance, you will deliver exceptional, brand-standard service that creates unforgettable guest memories against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service & Operations

• Warm Welcomes: Greet all guests with enthusiasm, embodying the Renaissance brand's signature hospitality culture.
• Skate Distribution: Assist guests with properly sizing and distributing ice skates, ensuring proper fit and safety. Manage the check-in and check-out process for all rental equipment.
• Rink Monitoring: Supervise activity on the ice to enforce safety guidelines, prevent reckless behavior, and assist skaters of all ages and skill levels (especially children and beginners).

Rink & Facility Maintenance

• Ice Upkeep: Sweep, scrape, or clear the ice surface regularly during shifts to maintain optimal skating conditions.
• Equipment Care: Sanitize, organize, and maintain rental skates. Report any damaged equipment immediately.
• Area Cleanliness: Keep the skate rental counter, seating areas, and surrounding deck clean and free of tripping hazards.

  • Basic ice-skating proficiency is preferred (must be comfortable moving securely on or near the ice).

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying coastal weather conditions (wind, cooler winter temperatures, etc.).
  • Ability to lift up to 30–40 lbs (managing racks of skates, supplies, etc.).
• Availability: Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, to match peak resort hours.
