Job summary

Greenleaf Hospitality Group seeks a Manager of Ice Operations to oversee all ice operations at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo, MI, for the 2026-27 season, with transition to Kalamazoo Event Center in 2027-28. Lead staff, manage resurfacing, and ensure NCAA/ECHL standards are met across main and practice arenas.

You’ll implement SOPs, maintain equipment and records, and collaborate with maintenance and contractors while preparing for events and multi-purpose operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience operating an ice resurfacer.
• Experience overseeing, supervising or managing numerous employees.
• Fundamental knowledge of ice operations and related equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to various tasks.
• Open to a flexible schedule as needed.
• Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of ice installation, maintenance, and ice removal, ensuring optimal playing conditions.
• Manage ice resurfacing operations including scheduling and operator training.
• Implement standard operating procedures for the field of play and ice surface.
• Maintain detailed records of ice conditions, maintenance schedules and related equipment service.
• Recruit, train, schedule and manage a team of ice operations staff.
• Collaborate with maintenance and external contractors on projects and systems status.
• Implement ongoing safety and training programs to ensure OSHA compliance.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and related materials.
• Schedule preventative maintenance for ice equipment and stock parts.
