Job summary

The Magnum Ice Cream Company is seeking an Associate Scientist to join the North America RD&I team in the U.S. to deliver innovation, renovation and cost improvements through hands-on bench development, pilot plant work and rigorous testing.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional partners, manage ingredient specifications in SAP PLM and support manufacturing for launches across the North America region.

Qualifications

• BS in Food Science or related field; 1+ year product development experience preferred.
• Experience with FDA regulations, GMPs and GLPs.
• Knowledge of ingredient functionality, processing, nutrition, and food legislation.
• Effective verbal and written communication and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Strong project management, organization and multi‑tasking.

Responsibilities

• Support regional innovation, renovation, quality improvement and cost optimization projects.
• Lead bench-top development and optimization work.
• Screen and validate new ingredients and suppliers; recommend next steps based on analytics, sensory and product showings.
• Plan and execute pilot plant trials, sample prep, analytical testing and sensory evaluations.
• Manage ingredients and product samples (inventory, ordering, logistics, shipping, disposal).
• Lead SAP PLM specification creation from request to approved status for new ingredients and products.
• Participate in factory trials for commercialization and support third-party manufacturing for launches.
