Multi-Skilled Technician
Location: Sikeston, MO

Pay Range: $38.09 Per Hour – Paid Bi-Weekly

Bonus eligible

This position requires flexibility within shift patterns and the ability to work holidays and during planned maintenance during factory shutdowns. Must be able to work any day of the week and adapt to schedule changes to meet business needs.

Background & Purpose of the Job

The Multi-skilled Technician specializes in Preventative Maintenance and Focused Improvement to optimize equipment operation and maintenance within the factory. Responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting failures, identifying root causes, and recommending design improvements. The technician will set maintenance strategies for their production area.

The technician must be professionally competent, operate safely, and possess knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial controls. They should be agile problem solvers, committed to maintaining a safe work environment, increasing productivity, protecting quality, and reducing waste. They will actively participate in technical team activities, drive performance improvements, waste reduction, and cost savings initiatives.

What You Need to Succeed

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Mechanical Skills
  • Knowledge and technical skills supporting the production line, focusing on performance, safety, quality, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
  • Preventative and Predictive Maintenance planning (Yearly, Monthly, Weekly).
  • Understanding mechanisms and mechanical motion.
  • Spare parts planning.
Electrical Skills
  • Ability to remove and replace electrical components (motors, switches, drives).
  • Safe troubleshooting of electrical circuits.
  • Understanding distribution systems and control circuits.
  • Knowledge of electrical drive systems and control loops.
Instrumentation and Control Skills
  • Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and their software (Allen Bradley or others).
  • Ability to amend control and software documentation.
  • Learn and understand factory networks, servers, and firewalls.
  • Adaptability to change and learning new control systems, including vision systems like Cognex DataMan Cameras.
Other Key Skills
  • Commitment to safety and environmental procedures, with the ability to become certified in Hazmat and First Aid.
  • Focus on reducing costs and environmental impact.
  • Upholding quality standards.
  • Leadership skills to promote team development.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree and/or Technical Certificate.
  • Experience in report writing, data analysis, mechanical calculations, leadership, and coaching.
  • Experience working as part of a manufacturing team.

Preferred / Desirable:

  • Experience in FMCG manufacturing.
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques.
  • Two years of manufacturing, mechanical, or technical experience.
  • Knowledge of structured text programming and robotics control systems.
