Job summary

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream Inc. is seeking a production operator to formulate and monitor the mixing of bulk ice cream according to approved recipes, ensuring GMP and safety standards are met. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to quality controls in a Bakersfield facility.

Responsibilities include operating machinery, sampling, documenting batch data, and coordinating with QA/lab for results while maintaining a clean, safe work environment across shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• One year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain work schedule and daily production risk predictions from scheduler and prioritize work.
• Answer calls and emails; address and resolve production issues and concerns.
• Set machine controls per work order; verify recipe and ingredients for batches.
• Monitor the process, take samples, test and email results to lab for quality checks.
• Document production for each run and enter data into SAP/Globe as required.
• Rotate with mixer/dry blender; complete CIP cycle and maintain housekeeping.
