Job summary

The City of Kettering's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts department is seeking a part-time Iceguard at the Kettering Ice Arena. You will provide high-quality customer service, monitor the arena to prevent accidents, enforce rules, and help keep the facility clean.

Must possess skating proficiency, be dependable, and able to work a flexible schedule. CPR/First Aid is preferred and training may be provided. Prior experience is helpful but not required; attendance and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess proven skating proficiency.
• Must be dependable, conscientious and able to work with staff and the public.
• Must be able to communicate verbally with the public and handle emergencies effectively.
• Flexibility in schedule is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patron safety and enforce arena rules with diplomacy.
• Sharpen skates and maintain skate area as directed by supervisors.
• Perform cleaning duties as requested to keep the arena clean.
• Report accidents/incidents and follow city policies and procedures.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
• Enforce City of Kettering policies and guidelines.
• Support duties related to Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department as directed.
