The City of Kettering invites applications for a part-time Cashier at the Kettering Ice Arena. You will handle entry fees, dispense goods or services, and maintain accurate cash deposits while working at the cashier booth.

Minimum age 16 with basic math skills; must be reliable, customer-friendly, and able to operate POS equipment. This role requires regular on-site attendance and teamwork with staff and the public.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old and have knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Experience with cash handling and customer service is a plus.
• Ability to operate cash point equipment and POS systems.
• Part-time hours with variable shifts, primarily at the Kettering Ice Arena.

Responsibilities

• Handle money during assigned shift and ensure accurate deposits.
• Operate the point of sale equipment correctly.
• Answer incoming calls and provide correct information in a friendly manner.
• Hand out skates to patrons during assigned shifts.
• Collect fees and maintain accounting reports and deposits.
• Follow proper entry and fee policies for all patrons.

• Carry out responsibilities for the City of Kettering Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department.

Job description

Join our award-winning Parks Recreation and Cultural Arts team as a part-time Cashier. We need your energy and positive attitude to provide high-quality customer service at the Kettering Ice Arena. This position is a customer-facing position that collects entry fees dispenses goods or services and accounts for all monies. This position operates the cashier booth at the Kettering Ice Arena.

Compensation: Pay range is $11.10 to $12.30 per hour. Entry rate is contingent upon candidate's related skills knowledge and abilities.

Responsible for money handling during assigned shift;

Operates the point of sale equipment properly;

Answers incoming calls and provides correct information in a friendly manner;

Responsible for handing out skates to patrons during certain shifts;

Responsible for collecting fees and maintaining proper accounting reports and deposits;

Responsible for following proper entry and fee policies and procedures for all patrons;

Regular and predictable on-site attendance required;

Must be able to work well with staff and the public;

Carries out any assigned responsibilities relating to the City of Kettering Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department.

Candidates must be at least 16 years of age with knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to operate cash point equipment. Must demonstrate skill in proper handling of money.
