Job summary

Froehling & Robertson, Inc. (F&R) is seeking a field tester/inspector to perform complex field testing and inspection of construction materials to verify conformance to plans and specifications.

You will conduct field tests on soil, asphalt, and concrete, prepare comprehensive reports, and perform basic lab tests. Travel to job sites and collaboration with clients and staff are required for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• ICC Certifications in soils, structural masonry, or reinforced concrete are required.
• Or an Engineering Intern (EI) with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade 1.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and safety rules.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performing field materials testing of soil, asphalt, and concrete.
• Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and observations provided.
• Performing basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and preparing reports of results.
• Evaluating site conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations.
• Communicating with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues.
