Job summary

SAFEbuilt is seeking a Combination Building Inspector in the Greater Florence, SC area. The role involves performing daily field inspections on residential, commercial, and public facility projects, while reviewing plans for code compliance and communicating technical details to a broad audience.

Ideal candidates will hold ICC certifications in multiple trades and SCLLR licensing, with proficiency in MS Office and permitting software.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of local building codes and construction procedures/technology.
• 3+ yrs. experience with interpretation of codes in the field and providing code-compliant solutions.
• Ability to interact positively with staff, public, contractors, and governmental entities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections of residential, commercial and public facility construction projects.
• Explain technical information to technically and non-technically trained individuals.
• Review plans and calculations for code compliance with applicable codes.
• Provide interpretations of standards, ordinances, and regulations.
• Maintain records of inspections, tests, and related details.
• Enter inspection results into permitting software.
• Perform other related duties as required.
