The South Carolina Attorney General's Office seeks attorneys to join the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) team, protecting minors from online exploitation through cutting-edge investigations and cross-agency collaboration.

Under limited supervision, duties include advising law enforcement, guiding indictments, courtroom appearances, and training others, with a commitment to justice and public service.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate Degree.
• Must be a member and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar. Must satisfy Rule 403 requirements.
• Employee is expected to promptly inform supervisor of any issues, problems, or suggestions relating to job duties.
• Position may require overnight travel.
• Some travel required.
• Above-average understanding of computers, software and technology (beyond MS-Office).
• Knowledge of South Carolina laws, general case, statutory and common law; knowledge of judicial and quasi-judicial procedures and rules of guidance.
• Ability to interpret and apply laws in court decisions and the ability to analyze facts, evidence and legal instruments.
• Must be able to express conclusions and arguments clearly and logically.

Responsabilités

• Advise law enforcement on ICAC investigations and review reports.
• Prepare indictments and case dispositions for the Attorney General.
• Make court appearances and present cases for the State.
• Obtain subscriber information from internet service providers via orders.
• Lead training and presentations on ICAC; respond to inquiries.
• Perform other duties as requested by leadership.
