Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking an IC Lead to govern the Environmental, Health & Safety program for the Instrumentation & Control Systems organization. You will ensure safety processes align with corporate EHS standards and regulatory requirements, provide governance across engineering, manufacturing, field projects and vendor operations, and lead a small team of EHS professionals.

Reporting to the Sr Director of IC/QEHSO, this hybrid role is based in a Westinghouse facility in the

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, project management, or a related discipline.
• At least twelve years' experience in safety, though advanced degrees will count towards relevant experience.
• Experience creating and teaching safety policies and procedures.
• Professional EHS certifications, such as CSP or CIH, are desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and govern IC's Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program, ensuring understanding of Westinghouse corporate EHS standards and full compliance with all applicable safety regulations across IC operations.
• Ensure effective deployment and execution of safety processes and controls across IC's engineering offices, manufacturing operations, field project sites, and vendor facilities, verifying that all activities are performed safely and in accordance with required EHS protocols.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs across the IC workforce, spanning manufacturing, vendor, engineering, project, and office-based activities.
• Lead investigations of safety incidents, near-misses, and workplace hazards within IC, performing cause analyses and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Establish IC safety performance metrics and leading indicators, analyzing trends from safety observations and reports to identify systemic issues.
• Champion a strong nuclear safety culture within IC by cascading corporate safety messaging and promoting a “Zero Harm” mindset across all levels of the organization.
