Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking an internship conversion position in the Sensors and Systems Department. The selected candidate will work full-time on-site, collaborating with engineers to design and build prototypes and provide electrical engineering support.

  • Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation is preferred.
  • 0–1 year of industry work experience.

  • Experience testing electronics in a lab environment using oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build prototypes for internal and external customers.
  • Provide electrical engineering design support to scientists and technicians.
  • Design digital circuits, schematic capture, hardware debug and test, and operations support for newly delivered instruments.
  • Test and troubleshoot digital and analog circuit boards in the lab.

Internship conversion position for the Sensors and Systems Department.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in El Segundo, CA.

What You'll Be Doing
  • You will work with other engineers to design and build prototypes for internal and external customers.
  • You will provide electrical engineering design support to scientists and technicians working on internal R&D projects
  • You will design digital circuits, schematic capture, hardware debug and test, and operations support for newly delivered instruments
  • You will test and troubleshoot digital and analog circuit boards in the lab
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed
  • Training and mentorship will be provided

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)
  • Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation
  • 0-1 year of industry work experience
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Experience testing electronics in a lab environment using oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
  • Knowledge of basic electronic circuit concepts and theory
  • Familiarity with basic programming concepts
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
