Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Associate Member of Technical Staff for the Space Systems Implementation Department, to support space vehicle systems and acquisition for national programs. This internship-conversion role emphasizes collaboration, studies, and engineering excellence within the SED.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s in a relevant field, 0–1 year of experience, and eligibility for security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science discipline, pursuing or conferred within last 12 months.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
  • 0–1 year industry experience; prior Aerospace internship preferred.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Responsibilities

  • Provide space vehicle systems engineering support for US Space Force programs.
  • Lead and participate in multi-disciplinary studies to assess space system designs.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of designs during milestone reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.).
  • Develop subject matter expertise in space vehicle systems engineering.
  • Build relationships with government, programs, and contractor personnel.
  • Training and mentorship will be provided.

Internship conversion position for the Systems Engineering Division (SED). The Space Systems Implementation Department in SED provides development, assessment, and closure of space vehicle systems. As an Associate Member of Technical Staff of this department, you will be supporting the acquisition of the next generation of innovative space vehicle systems to solve the most challenging problems of our US Space Force, Intelligence Community, NASA, NOAA, and commercial/international customers.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Providing space vehicle systems engineering support for customer programs, with a focus on the United States Space Force
  • Leading and participating in studies, to include multi-disciplinary engineering teams, to assess breadth of space system designs for accuracy and completeness
  • Evaluating the feasibility of space system designs during key milestone reviews such as Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, etc.
  • Developing as a subject matter expert in space vehicle systems engineering to support execution of customer programs
  • Establishing strong working relationships with government, program office, and contractor personnel as well as other members of Aerospace’s engineering group
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed
  • Training and mentorship will be provided

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills. (Min - Max) $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 Pay Basis: Annual
