Job summary

As an internship conversion position in the Sensors and Systems Department, the selected candidate will work full-time on-site in El Segundo, CA, with mentorship and a path to full-time employment.

Internship conversion position for the Sensors and Systems Department. The selected candidate will be required to work full‑time, on‑site at our facility in El Segundo, CA.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • You will work with other engineers to design and build prototypes for internal and external customers.
  • You will provide electrical engineering design support to scientists and technicians working on internal R&D projects.
  • You will design digital circuits, schematic capture, hardware debug and test, and operations support for newly delivered instruments.
  • You will test and troubleshoot digital and analog circuit boards in the lab.
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed.
  • Training and mentorship will be provided.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months).
  • Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation.
  • 0-1 year of industry work experience.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Experience testing electronics in a lab environment using oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
  • Knowledge of basic electronic circuit concepts and theory.
  • Familiarity with basic programming concepts.
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government.
  • U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills. (Min - Max) $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 Pay Basis: Annual
