Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Information Technology Generalist Administrator 1 for the ROC Print Center in Harrisburg. This role handles printer operations, mainframe software administration, and end‑user computing support in an IBM mainframe environment.

You will coordinate tasks, estimate time, and support development teams; telework may be available part‑time up to two days weekly from an approved PA location.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience: 1 year as IT Generalist 2 or similar roles; or
• Five years IT experience with two years in development/maintenance, networks, web, database, data analysis, or IT security;
• Three years IT experience with two years in development/maintenance, plus an associate’s degree;
• One year IT experience with a bachelor's degree;
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Manage printer operations and remotely control printers
• Assist staff with restart and recovery of printers and management software
• Monitor OS performance and recommend improvements
• Define and maintain terminal and printer configurations
• Collaborate with admins and developers to troubleshoot environments
• Organize tasks and estimate resources for development teams

Education

Associate’s degree in any information technology field

Bachelor’s degree in any information technology field

Equivalent combination of experience and training
