Job description

This is not a Mainframe Developer position. We are seeking a Systems Programmer - this role has a strong focus on system administration and maintenance and we are seeking someone with a systems-oriented background

Overview -

Within the IT Mainframe Services org, you’ll work closely with a global team of engineers who are focused on providing z/OS, z/VM, and z/Linux infrastructure in support of the enterprise’s R&D operations. The team supports more than 140 z/OS environments running natively and under z/VM, along with z/Linux images and VSE.

This role is focused on maintaining and enhancing the mainframe operating system, not developing applications.

In this role, you will:

Install, customize, and maintain mainframe software.
Provide technical guidance to the R&D community.
Conduct problem determination, root cause analysis, and first-line support (scheduled on-call) for the mainframe environment.

Requirements:

Proven track record in driving mainframe modernization initiatives.
Deep understanding of z/OS architecture and IBM utilities.
Extensive experience with RACF and mainframe security.
Solid background in installing and maintaining IBM and ISV mainframe products.
Expertise in root cause analysis and problem determination on the z/OS platform.
Experience participating in IBM and ISV beta programs.
Strong knowledge of DFSMS, SMPe, ServerPac, PDO, DFDSS, DFHSM, ICF Catalogs, HCD, IODF, REXX, JCL, DASD and tape management products, Communications Server, SDSF, VTE (Copycross), ICSF, RMM, USS, GTF, and IPCS.
