Job Title: IBM Lake House Data Modeler

The Challenge:

We are seeking an experienced IBM Lakehouse Data Modeler on contract for a long-term (1–2 year) assignment with a leading client in the financial services industry, specifically within the commercial capital/commercial leasing domain.

Key Requirements:

• Proven expertise in data modeling for large-scale IBM Lakehouse environments on AWS, with a focus on financial services and commercial lending data.
• Strong understanding of commercial capital lines of business, including loan origination, collateral management, and risk tracking.
• Experience collaborating closely with both business stakeholders and technical teams to translate complex financial processes into scalable and business-aligned data models.
• Proficiency in designing structured data layers (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and implementing historical tracking using best practices such as Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCDs).
• Familiarity with data governance, including the use of metadata and data lineage tools to ensure traceability and compliance.
• Deep understanding of how to build data models that meet regulatory standards, align with business objectives, and support future scalability.

Must Have Experience:

• Deep understanding of modeling Lakehouse for financial services data patterns, including amortization schedules, revolving credit structures, syndicate agreements, and asset-backed loan instruments, shaping modeling strategies that directly support business needs.
• Experience collaborating directly with business stakeholders in Commercial Lending, Equipment Finance, and Asset-Based Lending to translate financial requirements into logical, conceptual, and physical data models supporting strategic analytics.
• Building background subject area data models for key commercial capital processes such as loan servicing, asset valuations, risk ratings, payment schedules, portfolio management, and default tracking.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to both business and technology teams, influencing architectural decision-making around data structure, storage optimization, and schema management within the Lakehouse environment.
• Design Lakehouse security models by aligning data access control policies (e.g., borrower-level row filtering, loan officer-specific permissions) with business and regulatory security requirements.
