Motion Recruitment is seeking an experienced AS400/IBM i Infrastructure Analyst for a full-time onsite role in the Phoenix area. You will administer IBM i environments, monitor performance, and drive disaster recovery and security initiatives to ensure business-critical workloads stay available.

The role requires hands-on administration, upgrades, backup management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to mature infrastructure and automation efforts.

Qualifications

5+ years of IBM i / AS400 administration experience.
Experience managing IBM Power Systems environments.
Strong IBM i operating system administration skills.
Experience performing PTF maintenance and OS upgrades.
Backup and recovery administration experience.
Performance monitoring and capacity planning experience.
IBM i security administration knowledge.
Production environment support experience.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain IBM i infrastructure environments.
Monitor platform performance and system health.
Deploy operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
Manage security controls and user access.
Support backup, recovery, and business continuity processes.
Participate in disaster recovery exercises and testing.
Create and maintain technical documentation.
Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and operations teams.
Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies.
