Job summary

Caesars Entertainment is seeking an experienced iSeries Systems Engineer to lead the implementation and optimization of IBM i systems. The role focuses on reliability, scalability, and security within an enterprise environment in Las Vegas.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of IBM i experience, strong CL/SQL skills, and familiarity with PowerVM, BRMS, PM400, and iNavigator. Eligible for a broad benefits package and annual incentives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience with IBM i systems in an enterprise environment.
• Must be able to pass background checks to obtain and hold gaming licenses.
• Experience in performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Working knowledge of IBM i operating system, CL programming, SQL, and DB2 for i.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance IBM i system architectures.
• Support infrastructure strategies for business continuity, disaster recovery, and future growth.
• Assist in evaluating emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to the IBM i platform.
• Install, configure, and maintain IBM i operating systems.
• Manage OS upgrades, PTFs, and hardware refresh cycles.
• Monitor system performance, capacity planning, and tuning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures using BRMS.
• Ensure high availability and reliability of IBM i systems.
• Plan, organize, and implement technical projects.
• Implement and maintain security policies, user access controls, and audit procedures.
• Ensure compliance with SOX, PCI, Gaming Control Boards.
• Develop and maintain scripts for system and storage administration using CL and SQL.
• Utilize PM400 and iNavigator for configuration management.
• Collaborate with application development, network, and security teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff.
• Serve as a team representative for IBM i-related projects.
• Provide technical support to developers, platform administrators, and other teams.
• Diagnose and resolve complex system and storage issues.
• Participate in after-hours system deployments and maintenance.
• Participate in on-call rotation.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced iSeries Systems Engineer for the implementation and optimization of our IBM i (AS400/iSeries/System i) systems. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise in IBM i and IBM Power Systems environments and aid in aligning infrastructure with evolving business goals.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 USD, which is dependent on several factors including relevant experience, geography, business needs, and market demand. This role may also be eligible for short‑term or long‑term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses. This role includes paid Personal Time Off and paid company holidays.
