Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking an experienced AS400/IBM i Infrastructure Analyst for a full-time onsite role in the Phoenix area. You will administer IBM i environments, monitor performance, and drive disaster recovery and security initiatives to ensure business-critical workloads stay available.

The role requires hands-on administration, upgrades, backup management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to mature infrastructure and automation efforts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IBM i / AS400 administration experience.
• Experience managing IBM Power Systems environments.
• Strong IBM i operating system administration skills.
• Experience performing PTF maintenance and OS upgrades.
• Backup and recovery administration experience.
• Performance monitoring and capacity planning experience.
• IBM i security administration knowledge.
• Production environment support experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain IBM i infrastructure environments.
• Monitor platform performance and system health.
• Deploy operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
• Manage security controls and user access.
• Support backup, recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Participate in disaster recovery exercises and testing.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and operations teams.
• Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies.
