Job summary

Banner University Medical Group seeks an experienced IBD Specialist to lead the Division’s IBD program, expanding multidisciplinary patient-centered care and advancing innovative clinical research. The role combines strategic leadership with active clinical practice and mentorship of junior faculty and trainees.

The ideal candidate has an established IBD research track record, strong leadership experience, and a commitment to mentorship within academic medicine in Arizona.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with board certification in Gastroenterology.
• Eligible for licensure in AZ.
• Established track record of excellence in IBD clinical care and academic scholarship.
• Strong record of clinical research and/or translational research in IBD.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and a commitment to mentorship and team development.
• Eligibility for appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor level.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the IBD program, including clinical operations, research initiatives, and educational programs.
• Develop and expand a multidisciplinary, patient-centered IBD care model.
• Lead and grow a robust clinical research program with support from institutional infrastructure.
• Mentor junior faculty, fellows, and trainees in clinical practice, academic development, and research.
• Collaborate with colleagues across specialties including surgery, pathology, and radiology to ensure integrated care.
• Maintain active clinical practice in IBD.
• Collaborate with Division Chief of Gastroenterology/Hepatology to identify strategic planning
