Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced RN with IBCLC certification to lead lactation care for medically complex infants. The role involves evaluating maternal history, developing care plans, educating families, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across care settings including ICU.

A strong pediatric lactation background and mentorship responsibilities are emphasized. The position oversees interns, supports care coordination, and promotes evidence-based lactation

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years RN experience, pediatrics or NICU preferred.
• Minimum 2 years clinical Lactation Consultant experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates maternal history, patient medical and clinical information to develop and implement lactation plan of care.
• Applies scientific knowledge to diagnosis and treatment.
• Instructs patients and caregivers on lactation plan.
• Serves as a resource and educator for healthcare providers, students, community lactation consultants and the public.
• Develops and revises patient education materials and participates in lactation committees.
• Supervises lactation interns and students when applicable.
• Coordinate care for complex patient populations in collaboration with the director.
