Job summary

Lakes International Language Academy in Minnesota seeks an Arts teacher for Grades 6–12 to support the IB Middle Years and Diploma Program. You will develop engaging curriculum and deliver instruction in English, incorporating hands-on activities and international-mindedness.

Collaboration with department staff and participation in ongoing professional development are essential, with emphasis on IB best practices and a safe classroom climate.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Minnesota teaching license in related grade level and subject area.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education or related field.
• Experience teaching/living abroad is preferred.
• Teaching experience at the age level of the open position is preferred.
• Teaching experience in the International Baccalaureate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop curriculum and materials for IB best practices and infuse international-mindedness into daily instruction.
• Conduct classroom instruction in English or in target language as specified.
• Communicate with students and parents regarding program goals, activities, and progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, coaches, and administrators regarding teaching and performance.
• Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment using best practices of Developmental Designs and Responsive Classroom.
