Lakes International Language Academy in Forest Lake, MN is seeking a Grade 6-12 teacher to develop IB-aligned curriculum for Mandarin and English language immersion. The role emphasizes engaging instruction, hands-on activities, and a welcoming classroom climate.

You will collaborate with colleagues, participate in planning and staff development, and communicate with families about goals, progress, and program needs. Minnesota teaching licensure and fluency in English and Mandarin are required.

Formación

• Must have a valid Minnesota teaching license or the ability to earn permission to teach in MN prior to the start of the school year.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin, both oral and written communications.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education or related field.

Responsabilidades

• Develop curriculum and materials using IB best practices.
• Infuse international-mindedness into the curriculum.
• Incorporate hands-on learning activities into daily instruction.
• Communicate closely with parents regarding program goals, classroom activities, homework, school functions and student progress.
• Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment using Developmental Designs and Responsive Classroom for Middle School.
• Collaborate with other teachers, coaches, or administrators regarding their teaching.
• Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends in language acquisition for language and immersion teachers.
• Participate in regular planning and staff development; and participate in professional development deemed important to the school.
