Job summary

EF Academy Pasadena is seeking a dedicated high school teacher to deliver high-quality instruction across US History, Ethnic Studies, and potentially Art. You will operate within a diverse, international boarding and day community and collaborate with colleagues to support student success.

The role requires teaching across standard, AP, and IB levels, planning integrated lessons, differentiating instruction for diverse learners, and contributing to the school’s global education mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in teaching or a relevant field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience teaching high school level courses; ability to teach US History and Ethnic Studies.
• Experience with IB and US High School curricula is desired.
• Ability to teach across standard, AP, and IB levels.
• Experience with English Language Learners (ELL) is a strong asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and effective relationships with students and families.

Responsibilities

• Teach a course load of 4 out of 6 classes/sections within the school schedule.
• Hold office hours to provide academic support and feedback on student work.
• Attend curriculum planning, faculty, department meetings, and school assemblies.
• Participate in professional development and school initiatives.
• Contribute to the boarding and community life of the school; advise or coach as needed.
• Plan and teach IB and/or U.S. High School curricula for grades 9–12 with differentiated instruction.
• Develop materials and resources for English Language Learners and stay current with syllabi.
