Job summary

EF Academy Pasadena seeks a qualified teacher to cover US History and Ethnic Studies, with the possibility to teach Art. The role includes delivering high-quality instruction and supporting a diverse, international student body.

Responsibilities include coordinating with colleagues, planning lessons, and providing timely feedback while fostering an inclusive, academically rigorous environment. A bachelor’s in teaching is required; a master’s is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in teaching or relevant field (required).
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced qualifications.
• Experience in secondary/high school education is preferred.
• Ability to teach across multiple levels including standard, AP, and IB.
• Experience working with English Language Learners (ELL) is a strong asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-organized with strong classroom management skills.
• Demonstrated intercultural awareness in an international school setting.

Responsibilities

• Teach a course load of 4 out of 6 classes/sections within the school schedule.
• Hold office hours at assigned times to provide academic support for students.
• Provide timely and meaningful feedback on student work and assessments.
• Attend curriculum planning meetings, faculty meetings, department meetings, and school assemblies.
• Participate in professional development opportunities offered by the school.
• Serve on committees and contribute to school initiatives as needed.
