Job summary

A+1 Academy in Irvine, CA is seeking an AP European History Teacher to guide students through major periods, document analysis, and historical writing. You will help students prepare for AP exams with a focus on reading, discussion, and rigorous analytical thinking.

You will develop engaging lesson plans, provide timely feedback, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum in a student-centered learning environment.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background in history, especially European or world history.
• Familiarity with the AP European History curriculum and exam format.
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred, especially in AP-level courses.
• Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach AP European History classes and help students build understanding of major periods and developments.
• Guide students in mastering AP exam requirements, including document analysis and historical argumentation.
• Develop lesson plans tailored to students’ learning needs and goals.
• Assign and review homework, essays, and practice work with timely feedback to students and parents.
• Support students in improving critical thinking, historical reasoning, and exam-taking strategies.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and instructional improvement when necessary.
