Job summary

EF Academy Pasadena seeks qualified teachers to deliver US History and Ethnic Studies across US High School and IB curricula. The role may include teaching AP/IB courses and participating in a residential faculty model with on-campus housing if needed.

They collaborate with colleagues, plan engaging units, and differentiate instruction for diverse learners while maintaining strong communication with families and students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in teaching or relevant field; master’s degree preferred.
• Secondary/high school teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
• Experience implementing effective instructional strategies and current educational practices.
• Ability to teach across multiple levels including standard, AP, and IB courses.
• Experience working with English Language Learners (ELL) is a strong asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-organized with strong classroom management skills.
• Demonstrated intercultural awareness and ability to work within an international school community.

Responsibilities

• Teach a course load of 4 out of 6 classes/sections within the school’s schedule.
• Hold office hours at assigned times to provide academic support for students.
• Provide timely and meaningful feedback on student work and assessments.
• Attend curriculum planning meetings, faculty meetings, department meetings, and school assemblies.
• Participate in professional development opportunities offered by the school.
• Serve on committees and contribute to school initiatives as needed.
