Job summary

Silicon Valley International School seeks a Middle School Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves developing schemes of work, planning lessons, and teaching according to the MYP framework for grades 6–8.

The successful candidate will foster inquiry-based learning and collaborate with colleagues across cultures. Qualified applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with at least two years of teaching experience (masters and five years preferred), and authorization to work in

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and minimum 2 years teaching experience required; masters degree and minimum 5 years teaching experience preferred
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to meet requirements for a sponsored J-1 teacher exchange visa
• Proficiency in English to teach, communicate with parents and colleagues, understand the curriculum, and write report cards
• Experience with the best practices in math curricula in middle and high school

Responsibilities

• Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives
• Teach Middle School Math (Grades 6-8) within the MYP framework
• Facilitate learning by building relationships and organizing classroom resources
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in team-based planning
• Engage students through inquiry-based teaching and skill development
