The role focuses on an Algebra II course for a small class, with preparation and assessment aligned to IB rubrics, and an emphasis on integrating Daystar's faith perspectives into ethical decision-making and service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, mathematics, or a related field.
• Secondary math teaching experience or demonstrated subject matter expertise at a college level.
• Ability to build relational, inclusive learning environments where students feel known and valued.
• Secondary teacher certification in Illinois (Strongly Preferred).
• Experience with International Baccalaureate MYP and/or DP programs (Strongly Preferred).
• Familiarity with inquiry-based and concept-based instructional approaches (Strongly Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Teach one 10th grade math course aligned with IB MYP frameworks.
• Design and deliver concept-based, inquiry-driven units with real-world connections.
• Integrate faith perspectives into curriculum to inform ethical decision-making and service.
• Develop learning excursions to deepen understanding and engagement with the wider world.
• Submit unit and weekly lesson plans reflecting pedagogical practice and student needs.
