Job summary

deciBel Research, Inc. in Huntsville, AL, seeks a Modeling and Simulation Engineer to develop, integrate, and execute high-fidelity simulations of IAMD components. You will contribute to real-time and constructive frameworks and quantify mission effectiveness to support data-driven decisions.

You will work with Docker/Podman containers, Python/Matlab tools, and DoD simulation environments, applying 5–10 years of modeling experience in a fast-growing Mission Engineering team.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of applied engineering experience with modeling and simulation.
• Strong programming skills in C++.
• Integration expertise: integrate models into larger simulation architectures and data pipelines.
• Experience analyzing architectures for sensor-to-shooter loops and fire control closures.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and test high-fidelity mathematical models and simulations of IAMD components (e.g., sensors, interceptors, and threat kinematics).
• Integrate disparate system models into real-time and non-real-time simulation frameworks (HIL/SIL and constructive).
• Develop automated analysis tools and scripts to parse large simulation datasets for sensitivity analysis and mission effectiveness quantification.
• Evaluate threat kinematics, sensor-shooter assignments, weapon flyouts, and overall lethality to quantify end-to-end performance.
