Job summary

M&T Bank in the United States seeks an Engineering Manager to lead multiple Scrum teams focused on Customer Identity and Authentication modernization. You will guide engineers, manage client relations, and align work with our roadmap and North Star.

The role requires extensive leadership, project management, and cloud experience, especially in Azure, with a strong focus on identity security and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Combined minimum of 9 years' higher education and/or work experience, including 4 years engineering/architecture and 3 years leadership.
• Experience with Implementation and Support of a Customer Facing Authentication Experience.
• Experience with Azure Cloud Development.
• Customer Identity Experience.
• Capable of working on multiple projects of a complex nature.
• Proficiency with project management, word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Complete understanding of the system development life cycle.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and participate in client consults to analyze short-range business requirements and recommend innovations.
• Monitor technology direction, especially trends in Customer Identity and Access Management.
• Research and initiate change to the status quo when necessary.
• Oversee vendor and product analysis and recommendations.
• Oversee application development, support testing, infrastructure, and project management.
• Serve as SME and train team members and stakeholders as needed.
• Build rapport and maintain professional communication across the organization.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and professional organizations.
• Direct staffing decisions and ensure schedule completion.
