Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate daily reporting and project documentation; communicate with PMs.

Fiber Foreman - Data Center Infrastructure

Location: Northern Virginia / IAD Region
Pay: $45-$49/hr, based on experience
Schedule: Must be available for all shifts
Start Date: ASAP

Position Overview

Tek One Solutions is seeking an experienced Fiber Foreman to support large-scale data center infrastructure projects throughout the Northern Virginia / IAD market.

This is a senior field leadership position for an individual with extensive hands‑on fiber experience who can also organize, direct, and lead large teams of technicians in fast‑paced mission‑critical environments.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically strong, comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and capable of quickly adapting to changing project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and organize large teams of fiber technicians
• Coordinate daily field activities, manpower, and installation priorities
• Oversee fiber pulling, routing, dressing, and labeling
• Perform and supervise fiber optic splicing
• Ensure proper fiber handling and installation techniques
• Test and troubleshoot fiber optic infrastructure
• Perform testing of LC, MPO12, and MPO16 fiber assemblies
• Utilize industry test equipment including:
  • EXFO
  • Fluke Versiv 2
  • Viavi
  • OTDR equipment
• Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project documentation
• Verify installations meet project specifications and quality standards
• Maintain accurate daily reporting and project documentation
• Track progress, deficiencies, testing results, and completed work
• Troubleshoot installation and testing issues in the field
• Communicate effectively with project management and field teams
• Maintain safety, productivity, and quality expectations across assigned crews

Required Experience

Candidates should have advanced experience with:

• Fiber optic installation in commercial or data center environments
• Fiber pulling and proper handling techniques
• Fiber dressing and cable management
• Fusion splicing and fiber splicing techniques
• Fiber testing and troubleshooting
• LC, MPO12, and MPO16 connectivity
• OTDR testing
• EXFO, Fluke Versiv 2, Viavi, or comparable testing platforms
• Reading and interpreting blueprints
• Leading and organizing large installation crews
• Daily production and project reporting

Previous hyperscale data center or mission‑critical infrastructure experience is strongly preferred.

Leadership Qualifications

This position requires someone who can operate successfully in a rapidly changing environment.

Tools, PPE & Certifications

• Full PPE required
• Relevant fiber, BICSI, OSHA, manufacturer, or testing certifications should be listed if applicable
• Additional OSHA and lift requirements may be completed during onboarding as required
