Job summary

WaterBridge is seeking an I&E Technician to support Delaware Basin operations by installing, repairing, and maintaining instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment in a field environment. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and accurate data entry into maintenance programs, with opportunities to work on PLCs, RTUs, VFDs, and communication hardware.

This full-time position follows a 10‑hour shift, 10 days on 4 days off.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 2+ years experience in instrumentation, control, and electrical systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable record.
  • Instrumentation: pressure, level, flow, 4-20 mA signals, Modbus.
  • Control: PLCs, PID loop tuning, RTUs, IPCs.
  • Electrical: power distribution, VFDs, motors, transformers.
  • Troubleshooting with meters, transmitters, RTUs, and PLCs.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
  • Live within 65-mile radius of Orla, TX, or stay within radius during shifts.
  • Company-paid housing will be provided during your working shift.

Job description

The I&E Technician supports our Delaware Basin operations by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment in a field environment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The following represents most of the position's duties but is not meant to be all-inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.

As an I&E Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining company equipment
  • Temperature, level, vibration and pressure transmitters.
  • Several platforms of programmable logic controllers and RTUs.
  • Electrical and mechanical systems and equipment such as VFD’s, motors, pumps, switches, pneumatic controls, end devices, and related input and output devices.
  • Cellular modems, serial radios, gateways, ethernet radios, and routers, with the ability to use various tools and software to troubleshoot communication issues
  • Coordinating and performing maintenance duties required to maintain operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Reading and understanding maintenance/operations manuals for equipment specifications, parts, and procedures to make proper and timely repairs.
  • Maintaining effective and responsive communication with others, including facility operations and supervision, engineering, supply chain, other I&E employees, clerical staff, and contractors.
  • Accountable for personal safety, the safety of co-workers and promoting a safe work environment
  • Ensuring job duties are carried out with due regard for the environment, and in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Ensuring accurate, timely data is entered and recorded within computer-based preventative and predictive maintenance programs, drawings, procedures, and schematics.
  • Staying abreast of changing technology through training opportunities, contacting suppliers/representatives of equipment manufacturers, and networking with others in the field.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • A valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record is required.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience/training in applicable instrumentation, control, and electrical systems, technical degree or license is a plus.
  • Instrumentation: pressure, level, flow, 4-20 mA signals, Modbus, switches
  • Control: PLCs, PID loop tuning, RTUs, and IPC’s

  • Troubleshooting skills with meters, transmitters, RTUs, and PLCs.
  • Experience using computers and a basic knowledge of Word and Excel are required.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and associated safety requirements.
  • Demonstrate advanced organizational skills.
  • Be able to apply common-sense understanding to daily tasks and/or issues.
  • Work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Must be able to relate to other people and maintain good relationships with coworkers and peers.
  • Must be able to respond appropriately to constructive criticism.
  • Must live within a 65-mile radius of Orla, TX, or stay within that radius during working shift.
  • Company-paid housing will be provided during your working shift.

  • Operates in a field environment.
  • May be subject to environments that are extreme in nature, such as heat, cold, etc.

  • Standing, walking, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Walking on uneven and vegetated terrain.
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and must be able to carry a self-contained breathing apparatus if needed. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
