Job summary

Tenaska Operation Inc. is seeking an I&E Technician to perform preventative maintenance on major equipment and emergency backup systems at the plant.

The role requires inspecting, repairing, installing and removing motors, generators, transformers, breakers, switches, and control equipment, with emphasis on high voltage systems. You will calibrate field instrumentation, transmitters, valves, and emissions monitoring equipment, and work from blueprints.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Instrument Technician Program and experience in related industry desirable.
• Four years work experience as a technician may substitute the above requirement.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to read blueprints and work from them.
• Experience with voltages up to 6900 volts is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all major equipment and emergency backup systems.
• Inspect, repair and install motors, generators, transformers, breakers, switches and control equipment.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot field instrumentation, transmitters, valves, and emissions monitoring equipment.
• Maintain equipment files, logs and drawings; assist in inventories.
• Operate and service the plant's control systems (DCS, MkV, etc.).
• Identify spare parts and support plant reliability; assist in inventories.
