Job summary

Tenaska is seeking an I&E Technician for a plant in Smithton, PA. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, inspection, and repair of motors, generators, transformers, breakers, switches, wiring, and high‑voltage systems, with calibration of field instrumentation and valves.

Responsibilities include maintaining logs, operating DCS/MkV, ordering spare parts, and supporting plant drawings. Applicants should have Instrument Technician training, strong safety skills, and the ability to read

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited Instrument Technician Program and two years work experience desirable.
Four years work experience as a technician with increasing responsibility may substitute for the above.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on major equipment, systems and backup systems.
Inspect, repair, install and remove motors, generators, transformers, breakers, switches, wiring, and high voltage systems.
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot field instrumentation, transmitters, and valves.
Maintain equipment files, logs, and drawings for designated equipment.
Operate and modify plant control systems (DCS, MkV).
Identify and reorder spare parts; assist in physical inventories.
Support maintenance records and plant manuals.
